OUR CLINICAL TEAM
General, Laparoscopic and Upper GI Surgeon
Peter was born and bred in the south of the South Island and obtained his medical degree from Otago.
Christchurch became the base for much of Peter’s surgical training and he achieved FRACS in 2009. Peter left for Melbourne just prior to the first earthquake to undertake an ANZGOSA fellowship in upper GI and Bariatric surgery. This training was conducted at Austin Hospital in Melbourne and Royal North Shore in Sydney, as well as affiliated private institutions. Following this, he spent some time working in Out-Back Australia, East Timor and Several centers in New Zealand before discovering Gisborne. Since settling in Gisborne he has established both public and private practices in the broad field of General Surgery as well as setting up Bariatric services in both sectors.
